(Part 3/3 – A summary of the Sunday morning teaching on 13-Sep-15, in AFT Church, English service. From the series The Foundation For Victorious Living)

P.O. BOX – HEAVEN

1) MOST SUPERIOR RESIDENCE

For Christ has not entered the holy places made with hands, which are copies of the true, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us;

Hebrews 9:24

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven

Matthew 5:16

The Lord is in His holy temple,
The Lord’s throne is in heaven;
His eyes behold,
His eyelids test the sons of men.

Psalm 11:4

A company ordered flowers from a local florist for a new branch opening. The flowers arrived and the team looked at it appreciatively. They picked up the card and were stunned to read it as ‘Deepest sympathy’. They called up the florist and pointed out the mistake. The florist gasped and said, ‘Oops! That means the card that went with the flowers to the funeral house says, “Congratulations on your new location!”’

Ironic comedy of errors!

Well, Heaven will one day definitely be our new location.

It is not an imaginary place in the never-never-land of children’s fairytales. It is also not a mystical place of trance. It is the place where the Father, Son and the Holy Ghost live. It the place from where Jesus came to the earth and the place that He went back to after His Resurrection. It is the place that is described at least 500 times in the Bible. Here are a few of those examples. It is the MOST REAL and WONDERFUL PLACE that we will ever live in.

2) PLACE OF GREAT REJOICING

You will show me the path of life;
In Your presence is fullness of joy;
At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore

Psalm 16:11

Many artists have labored to convince us that Heaven is a place where someone plays harp, or where we will float around on clouds that look like cotton candy.

Well, that definitely sounds boring!

But it couldn’t be farther from the truth. Heaven is an exciting and joyful place. Great parties, laughter and joy will be the characteristic of Heaven. The Bible says that one day in Heaven, every tear will be wiped away and every pain taken away. As we believe in that truth and live in anticipation of a joyous Home, our lives on earth will begin to take on a different shade. Our homes and churches will become places of celebration of our God given lives. We will spend each day enjoying God and fulfilling His purpose for us. Soon we will reflect a small bit of our glorious and exciting Heavenly Home in our earthly lives.

The God who created the beautiful sunset in Kodaikanal and the Niagara Falls or the delightful music and musicians like Beethoven and Bach is not boring. Heaven is His abode and surely it will be a pure pleasure to hang out and live with Him every day.

CONCLUSION

So, let us not buy into the devil’s lies that hell is far better and more interesting and entertaining than Heaven. Because you see, God never intended for any of us to go to hell. Hell was ALWAYS meant to be a place for the devil and his followers. Our loving God created Heaven for His children. He wants us to be with Him FOREVER. It will be a place where even the dullest person will become dynamic.
